What does it cost to replace a lost work permit card in Türkiye?
General information, not legal advice. For high-stakes decisions, confirm with the official institution in the next-step below, or consult a qualified Turkish lawyer.
Pending expert review. This fact is sourced but has not yet been reviewed by an independent legal expert. Treat as a starting point.
The replacement (Kayıp Kart Ücreti) is half of the original permit fee plus the full Değerli Kâğıt fee charged again. The 964 TL paper fee doesn't get a half-rate; only the permit fee does.
Worked examples for 2026:
- Lost 1-year Süreli permit card: ~6,287.40 + 964 = ~7,251.40 TL
- Lost 5-year Süreli permit card: ~31,437.20 + 964 = ~32,401.20 TL
- Lost Süresiz permit card: ~62,901.10 + 964 = ~63,865.10 TL
- Lost Geçici Koruma Çalışma İzni card: ~2,338.90 + 964 = ~3,302.90 TL
Watch-outs
- There is no discount for the remaining card validity. The half-fee applies the same whether you had 11 months left or 2 weeks.
- The Değerli Kâğıt fee (964 TL) is charged in full again on every replacement, regardless of permit type. It pays for the physical card stock.
- This rule can change with each year's Harçlar Kanunu Tebliğ. Re-check at year-end before quoting the half-rate.
- The lost card itself, if it later turns up, is no longer valid. The replacement card supersedes it and the old one is administratively dead.
Next step
Report the loss to CSGB through their standard channel as soon as you realise — you cannot prove permit status to police, employers, or banks without the card, and that gap can complicate other paperwork. The reissue runs through the same payment channels as the original; see paying the permit fee.
