How do I actually pay the work permit fee in Türkiye?
General information, not legal advice. For high-stakes decisions, confirm with the official institution in the next-step below, or consult a qualified Turkish lawyer.
Pending expert review. This fact is sourced but has not yet been reviewed by an independent legal expert. Treat as a starting point.
Two payment channels exist; one is faster, one is older. Both work.
Channel 1 — Credit card via Dijital Vergi Dairesi (the faster route). Go to dijital.gib.gov.tr, click "Referans Numarası İle Ödeme" on the main page, select institution "Uluslararası İşgücü Genel Müdürlüğü", enter your Yabancı Kimlik Numarası (starts with 9), then enter the Reference ID (İşlem ID) sent to you by CSGB email. The payment confirms in seconds.
Channel 2 — Bank transfer at agreed banks (Ziraat Bankası, Halk Bankası, Vakıf Bankası). Use the exact amounts notified by CSGB, deposited to specific account codes.
For Çalışma İzni Belgesi (work permit): permit fee → account code 9130; Değerli Kâğıt fee → account code 9267.
For Çalışma İzni Muafiyeti Belgesi (exemption document): exemption fee → account code 9280; Değerli Kâğıt fee → account code 9268.
Pay each fee on a separate receipt with your Yabancı Kimlik Numarası declared on the slip. A combined receipt for both fees is rejected.
Watch-outs
- The two fees (permit + Değerli Kâğıt) must be paid separately. Combining them on one receipt voids both.
- Amounts must be exact. Over- or underpayment by any margin makes the payment unprocessable and you re-pay from scratch.
- You have 30 days from CSGB notification to pay. After day 30 the application is auto-rejected with no appeal.
- No additional bank wire or transfer fee should be charged on top. If a teller tries to add one, ask for a manager — CSGB account-code transfers are fee-free at the agreed banks.
Next step
Pay through the bank or Dijital Vergi Dairesi, then wait. CSGB sees the payment automatically through the banking system — you don't submit a receipt or chase confirmation. Keep your receipt for your records in case the system mismatch needs investigating later.
