How the reminder offsets were chosen
Each reminder type uses a different offset pattern, calibrated from lived experience:
- İkamet: 90, 60, 30, 14, 7, 1 days before. The 60-day mark matters because Law 6458 Article 24 only opens the renewal portal inside that window. Earlier = portal won't accept you. Later than expiry = penalty.
- Passport: 180, 90, 60, 30, 14 days before. Most embassies in Türkiye will not accept renewal earlier than 6 months out, but waiting later than 60 days runs into ikamet renewal conflicts.
- GSS: 30, 7, 1 days. GSS payment deadlines are unforgiving — missed payments accrue and block ikamet renewals.
- Denklik: 30, 14, 7, 1 days. Missed appointments take 4–8 weeks to rebook.
- Custom: 30, 14, 7, 1 days. Generic.
