What expenses are fully covered by the Türkiye Bursları scholarship?

Türkiye Bursları is fully funded. The coverage removes almost all core financial burdens:
- University tuition — 100% of placement tuition fees waived.
- Monthly stipend — 4,500 TL (undergrad), 6,500 TL (master's), 9,000 TL (PhD). See ytb-12.
- Accommodation — free stay in state-run KYK dormitories. Undergrads stay in dorms for the full degree. Master's and PhD students stay in dorms for their first year, then can move out and receive a housing allowance: 6,000 TL in Istanbul/Ankara, 5,000 TL elsewhere.
- Health insurance — full coverage under SGK for emergencies and public hospital visits.
- Flight ticket — one-time economy ticket to Türkiye at the start, return ticket on successful graduation.
- TÖMER — 1 year of free intensive Turkish language training. See ytb-15.
Watch-outs
- Private accommodation kills the housing allowance. If an undergrad leaves KYK for a private flat, they get no allowance. The rent is entirely on them.
- The stipend covers basics, not luxuries. Food, transport, leisure, books — yes. Extravagant lifestyle or expensive electronics — no.
Next step
Familiarise yourself with the KYK dormitory system before you arrive. These are shared, state-run dorms; expect to share a room with 2–4 other students. Going in with realistic expectations is the difference between settling in and resenting the dorm.
