The current YTB interviewing committee isn't moved by "passion" or "interest." They look for tangible proof of action — what you've already done to pursue your goals, not what you say you want to do.
The standout pattern is specific past action linked to your stated field. For Computer Engineering, "I love computers" is insufficient. "Because of my interest in AI, I completed a Google Data Analytics certification last month and built a small predictive model for local traffic" is the level — concrete, recent, in your field.
Watch-outs
- Empty future tense. "When I graduate, I will..." is the weakest framing. Ground every answer in present or past actions.
- Irrelevant hobbies. Tailor your proof to your academic field. Coding skills don't help a sociology application; NGO volunteer work for the same field does.

Between submitting the application and interview day, take action: enrol in an online course, start a small project, learn basic A1 Turkish, volunteer in your field. Bring printed proof of recent activities to the interview — certificates, dated outputs, written volunteer references.
