Yes — for undergraduate applicants, there's a mandatory quantitative test taken immediately before the face-to-face interview.
The standard test is administered mainly to candidates applying for oversubscribed fields like Health Sciences, Engineering, and Natural Sciences. It's 30 questions covering Mathematics, Geometry, and Logic, 60 minutes, in both Turkish and English.
Country-specific exceptions:
- Greece, TRNC, Azerbaijan applicants may face a 50-question test that includes Turkish, Science, and Social Sciences.
- High-volume countries (Afghanistan, Sudan, others with massive applicant pools) may receive an expanded 80–100-question exam to filter further.
Watch-outs
- Curriculum overlap. The test is designed around the Turkish educational curriculum, though it covers global concepts. Strong fundamentals are expected.
- Score weight. Your test score heavily influences the committee's perception of your academic capabilities. A high GPA paired with a poor test score raises red flags about transcript reliability.
Next step
Review high-school mathematics, geometry, and basic logic. YTB provides a mock exam with sample questions on the official portal — practice with it before interview day.
