When does a work permit auto-cancel without the employee or employer requesting it?

Law 6735 Article 15(2) lists ten automatic cancellation triggers. The work permit dies without anyone filing a request:

(a) Failure to enter Türkiye within 6 months of permit-validity start, for permits issued abroad.
(b) Failure to renew passport or passport-equivalent before its expiry, unless waived by Interior or Foreign Ministry.
(c) Discovery that the foreigner is working in violation of the law's provisions.
(ç) End of employment for any reason.
(d) Discovery that the application used false or misleading information or documents.
(e) For Turkuaz Kart holders: failure to submit requested information during the transition period, or loss of qualifying characteristics.
(f) Interior Ministry notification that the foreigner falls under Law 6458 Articles 7 (denied entry), 15 (visa-refused), or 54 (deportation grounds).
(g) Notification that the foreigner threatens public order, security, or health.
(ğ) Continuous absence from Türkiye exceeding 6 months (Süreli) or 1 year (Bağımsız or Süresiz), except for health or mandatory public service reasons.
(h) Turkuaz Kart holders: absence exceeding the Ministry-defined limit.

Watch-outs

(d) can surface years later — even after citizenship — and unwinds the permit retroactively. A misstatement on the original application doesn't expire just because time passed.
(ç) treats every form of employment end the same. Voluntary resignation, layoff, contract end, project completion — all trigger cancellation. There's no "I'm between jobs" buffer.
(ğ) accumulates continuously, not per-trip. Two 4-month trips inside 12 months hit the 6-month Süreli cap. Track your departures from day one.
