Where do I submit a work permit application from inside Türkiye vs. from abroad?
General information, not legal advice. For high-stakes decisions, confirm with the official institution in the next-step below, or consult a qualified Turkish lawyer.
Pending expert review. This fact is sourced but has not yet been reviewed by an independent legal expert. Treat as a starting point.
- Inside Türkiye: apply directly to CSGB (Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanlığı).
- Abroad: apply at a Turkish embassy (büyükelçilik) or başkonsolosluk in the country of which you are a citizen, or in which you legally reside. The embassy/consulate forwards the application to CSGB.
- Authorised intermediary institutions (yetkili aracı kurum) may also submit applications on your behalf.
Watch-outs
- Going through an unauthorised "consultant" risks rejection and potential fraud — confirm the intermediary is on CSGB's approved list.
- Embassy-routed applications have additional processing time on top of CSGB's own 30-day evaluation window.
Next step
If you're inside Türkiye, file directly via CSGB's online portal. If abroad, check your nearest Turkish embassy/consulate's appointment system.
